Yasuko Kimishima
I was in my late 40s when I started painting, so I’ve been painting for almost 35 years now. By then my children were no longer callow, and I had more time on my hands than I’d had in years.
On my Birthday in May, my three children gave me a complete oil painting set as a Mother’s Day gift, which invited me into the world of oil painting.
I initially had no idea how to paint, but after avidly taking various lessons, I found myself wanting to paint something majestic, something that would leave a lasting impression on people. I headed for Tokyo to study further.
With the assistance of many wonderful teachers and friends, I was accepted for the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition, which was once a pie in the sky.
I will continue working on my oil paintings with passion. Please feel free to have a look at my works.
